Lipah Beach, also known as Lipah Bay, is a sheltered snorkeling area in Amed, East Bali, with a coral garden in roughly 2 to 8 metres of water. It can be visited from shore or as the second stop on our traditional jukung snorkeling route. Turtles may pass through the bay, but sightings are never guaranteed.

Getting to Lipah Bay
Lipah Bay sits on the main Amed coast road, a short drive from most Amed accommodation. It's a public beach with free shore access, so you can swim and snorkel here independently without booking a tour.
From shore, visitors need to identify a suitable entry point and judge the sea conditions before swimming toward the reef. A jukung trip provides direct water entry near the snorkeling area, includes gear, and also visits the Japanese Shipwreck and Jemeluk Bay in the same outing.
- Best time: Morning, before the wind picks up — Lipah stays calmer than open-water spots most of the year.
- Facilities: A few small warungs along the road; limited toilets on the beach itself.
- Parking: Informal roadside parking near the beach access points.
